In the centre of L'Empordà region, you
can find one of the most singular hotels in Catalonia: Mas de
Torrent, it belongs to the prestigious Relais & Châteaux Group and
unites simplicity and elegance as well as the character of its
architecture. The Hotel can highlight its attentive service and
exquisite décor that contribute to the creation of a unique, quiet
and very comfortable atmosphere.
The main building, the Masía or country house, which dates from the
18 th century, has 10 rooms on the first and second floors. Each of
the rooms is named after a flower and has been designed and
decorated to offer a comfortable and stylish accommodation, using
antique furniture and having preserved the original structure of the
building. The rooms offer spectacular views of the El Baix Empordà,
the hotel gardens and the swimming pool. A combination of the past
and present in these rooms offer an enchanting ambient to let your
imagination fly.
The garden area closest to the masía, has 22 very bright bungalows
with their own garden and direct access to the gardens surrounding
the swimming pool. All of them are decorated in a different manner
and offer a cosy and functional, atmosphere. Equipped with air
conditioning, safe, direct telephone, minibar, satellite television,
DVD and music.
To enjoy the maximum privacy and total luxury, this hotel offers 7
suites located in the most secluded part of the garden. Each with a
bedroom, a sitting room, two independent bathrooms (one with a
hydromassage bath) and a private terrace with an individual swimming
pool heated with solar pannels. The walls of the rooms are decorated
with a private collection of pictures, a tribute to Picasso, hand
embroidered signed by famous artists such as Neruda, Alberti, Miró,
Tàpies, Cuixart and each with a dedication to the painter.
The Hotel offers two restaurants, the first called Gastronomic
Restaurant located on the ground floor of the masía, it is
considered one of the best gastronomic establishments in the area,
where you will enjoy an elegant and cosy atmosphere. The walls are
decorated with a private collection of pictures, a tribute to
Picasso, made on hand embroidery and with the signatures of famous
artists such as Neruda, Alberti, Miró, Tàpies, Cuixart, each of them
with a dedication to the painter. The second called Pool Side
Restaurant opened in June 2004, this more informal and modern
restaurant is located by the swimming pool. It has a large room with
picture windows on all sides and the attraction of a kitchen in view
of the guests. The cuisine is Mediterranean and based on the
simplicity of seasonal products.
